Hi Everyone. First off, I am grateful that you took the time out to stop by and check out my blog. This is the first of many many entries that I plan to write over the years to come. I started off with my latest card, which is also very close to my heart because of the color combinations I chose for this project and because I really believe in all of Simon Says Stamp products. They have a beautiful line of products.
For this card, I took an A2 sized Bristol smooth cardstock and ink blended it with Black Spot Distress oxide and Iced Spruce Distress oxide inks. To create an ombré effect, I made sure I used a light hand while blending towards to the bottom of the cardstock. Then I heat set it with my heat gun to make sure the ink dries off completely before I do any heat embossing.
Then, I took an A2 sized Neenah Solar White cardstock and a Die-namics stitched rectangle frame and cut the front panel of the card, partially die-cutting the top to ensure the panel was still intact to the main card. I used the die as a measure and cut two sheets of acetate to create a shaker window.
I used a varying mix of sequins, from transparent to gold to charcoal to iridescent to black in the shaker window and sealed it off.
When the ink blended cardstock had dried, I heat embossed kaleidoscope background on it using an ultra fine gold embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp. Then I used the same Die-namics rectangle frame and cut the embossed panel.
On my cardstock, I adhered the shaker window and the frame on top of the card. While the inset of the embossed cardstock, left off from the die-cutting, I carefully placed it inside, aligning it with the card front to ensure continuity in pattern.
For the balloons, I used the MFT stamps glitter paper and die-cut them using the Party Balloons die from Lawn Fawn. On top, I used the Die-namics Pop Up Numbers and die cut 2018 from black cardstock and adhered it all using the Collage Medium.
For my sentiment, I went for Altenew Label Love stamp and chose, Celebrate as it made the most sense to me and heat embossed with gold on black, keep the theme intact. I drew stitched lines with a white gel pen to make sure the sentiment stood out.
On the inside, to make sure no glue was visible on the other side of the shaker window, I die cut the balloons and sentiment panel and stuck it carefully aligning it with the balloons and sentiment on the front.
Lastly, I took a gold and white twine and wound it around the top of my card twice, a tied it into a bow on the top left of my card. That completed my card.
I hope you liked my card. Thank you once again for stopping by. Hope you have a great day!
