Happy Mom’s Day – Copic Coloring and Watercolored Background Strip

Hi Friends! Hope everyone is having a great day! I have been enjoying watercoloring so much lately that I felt my copic markers were feeling the pinch of it. So I decided to get my markers out and do some classic black outline copic coloring with them.

For the background I did some loose watercoloring on a 300 GSM cold pressed watercolor paper with the distress inks, Seedless Preserves, Shaded Lilac, Tattered Rose and Picked Raspberry. I went from Purple to Pink on the strip. I heat embossed the entire stamp set Happy Mom’s Day stamp set using the Versamark Watermark Ink pad and white heat embossed with Ranger embossing powder super fine white.

For the cute little elephant, it belongs to the Wild Rose Studio Elephant Bella With Flowers which was stamped onto Neenah Solar White 90 lb cardstock for some copic coloring. I used C00, C1 and C3 for the elephant and R22 and R20 for her ears. For the flowers I used, V01, V12 and V15, Y13, Y15 and Y19 and BV00, BV04 and BV13.

I cut a circle from vellum using the Wonky Stitched Circle Stax from MFT stamps. I adhered the watercolored panel onto a SSS Fog cardstock cut to 4 by 5.25 inches. The panel measured 3.5 by 5.25 inches.

I added some hemptique twine and adhered the vellum circle and cut it on the side so that it aligns with the margins of the front panel.

I then stuck the elephant onto the vellum circle and added some sequins from Lucy’s cards. That’s all for this card. Hope you liked it!
