Partial Stamping and No Line Coloring – Happy Birthday

It’s my Mom’s birthday on 13th June so I thought of making her a birthday card. Things are rather slow at my end with the heat of the summer being at its peak and family visiting. I thought of recuperating with some no line coloring because I find watercoloring and pencil coloring to be truly therapeutic experiences in the whole card making hobby.

I started by taking some 100% cotton cold pressed watercolor paper and trimmed it down to 4.25 by 5.5 inches. I partially stamped the Cosmos Background stamp onto the paper using Antique Linen Distress Ink, keeping the stamping towards the bottom left portion, and did the same thing to the top right corner.

I watercolored the flowers using my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. I tried to bring in different colors this time as opposed to glazing with one color. I thought it gave more depth. I did give my flowers a bit of a touch up using my Faber Castell polychromos as sometimes you can lose a bit too much detail with no line coloring.

For the sentiment I heat embossed Happy Birthday using Ultra Fine Gold Embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp onto some vellum. The sentiment is from Big Greetings stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

I finished the card by placing it on top of an A2 sized top folding card made from Neenah Desert Storm 100 lb cardstock and added some color coordinating sequins to give it some finishing touches.

That’s all for this card. Thank you so much for taking the time out to read this post!

Have a great day.
