Hello Friends! Hope everyone is having a great day!
Please join me in this week’s challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge .
We are showcasing Doodlebug Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
I wanted to make some fun and cute cards because that is how I see Doodlebug Design. Cute cute cute! So, I went for cards that were of different shapes. I made a scalloped square, a scalloped circle and a heart shaped card using the pretty pretty patterned papers from Doodlebug Design.
For my first card, which is a circle, I partially die cut a scalloped circled leaving one edge intact so that I get a card which can be folded. For the patterned paper, I chose Teal colored Gingham print from the So Punny 12×12 So Petite Paper Pad and cut it using the same scalloped circle die. Then I took a smaller circle from Hero Arts Nesting circles die set and cut a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb cardstock.
I used the Circle Saying Stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and stamped Happy Birthday using Goldenlocks dye ink from Simon Says Stamp and stamped the sentiment Happy Birthday onto the circle. Then from the Birthday Celebration stamp set, again from Simon Says Stamp, I stamped the stars using Fog Dye Ink Pad. I used the cute little elephant from the same stamp set onto some Neenah Solar White 80 lb and colored it using my copic markers, C00, T2 and T4.
I die cut some balloons from Party Balloons Lawn Cuts and colored them using my copic markers and also did some tone on tone stamping on them. I attached the balloons and the critter onto the circular panel and connected the two with some Doodlebug Twine. So much fun! I added a cute little pom pom to the little ellie’s hat.
For the second card, I used the Yellow Polka Dot patterned paper again from the So Punny 12×12 Paper Pad. I partially die cut a scalloped square using the Waffle Flower Lacy Squares die set. I cut the patterned paper completely and adhered it onto the front panel. I used some woodgrain cardstock from Tim Holtz and die cut it into a smaller square using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares die and placed it onto the panel.
I used the Bold Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and stamped out the flowers using Hollyhock, Sunshine, Green Apple and Audrey Blue dye inks. I matched the colors to the Doodlebug Spring Sprinkles I was going to add to the card. I stamped Happy Birthday from the It’s No Secret Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp directly onto the woodgrain cardstock.
Then from the Birthday Celebration Stamp Set I stamped out Celebrate using Hollyhock dye ink onto some cardstock and cut a tag out of it. I placed all the flowers, which were cut using the co-ordinating die cuts and the sprinkles onto the woodgrain cardstock and added some twine on top of the card, just to add some interest!
The third and the final card, I wanted to make it floral. I made this card in heart shape. I did the exact same thing like the previous two cards. I partially cut of a heart using the Hero Arts Nesting Hearts die just leaving the edge intact so that I get a top folding heart shaped card. I used the Rainbow Pack 12×12 Inch Switch Dots Petite Prints patterned paper and cut a heart using the nesting dies, and placed it on the front panel.
I stamped the floral bouquet from the Bouquet of Thanks stamp set onto some Neenah Solar White 80 lb cardstock using Black dye ink and colored the flowers with some copic markers. I used Sakura White Gel pen to add some details to the centre of the flowers. Using the co-ordinating die, I die cut the flowers.
I stamped the sentiment ‘To My Wonderful Friend’ from the Simon Says Stamp It’s No Secret stamp set, on some vellum using Versamark Watermark Ink pad and heat embossed using White Embossing Powder from Simon Says Stamp. I cut it out using a stitched rectangle die from Stitched Rectangles Stax from MFT Stamps. I added some gold sequins onto the card to glue the vellum piece in place. I added some natural twine to the bouquet.
That’s all for this set of cards.
So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!
