Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Simon Says Stamp – Red, White and/or Blue

Hello Friends! Hope everyone is having a great day!

Please join me in this week’s challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge .

This week the challenge is

Red, White and/or Blue

We are showcasing our very own Simon Says Stamp products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

As always, Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 gift Vouches for the Simon Says Stamp Store to one randomly selected winner!

Here are my cards for the challenge inspiration.

I have been wanting to use my pencil colors on vellum for the longest time, so this color combination and the Cosmos Background Stamp from Simon Says Stamp was the perfect opportunity to get the pencil coloring done. I started off by taking a piece of 40 lb heavy weight vellum sized 8.4 inches long and 5.5 inches wide. I scored it at 2.125 inches from each end so that I can fold it and make a gate fold style A2 sized card.

I stamped the image onto the vellum using Versamark Watermark Ink pad and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder. I colored the flowers using Faber Castell Polychromos . The coloring is best done on vellum when colored on the back side instead of front. It shows through and looks really pretty. It is always good to use bright colors as they really pop.

I trimmed a panel from Fog cardstock, sized 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches and placed it the vellum card, so that I have a panel to write a message on. I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set, onto some black cardstock using Versamark Watermark Ink pad and Heat Embossed using White Embossing Powder. I placed it in the centre, glueing it only on one side so that the card can be opened easily.

For my second card, I wanted to really try and work on a design that had been going on in my mind for months. I took the 3 panels of cold pressed watercolor paper and I loosely color them with blue, red and orange separately. I die cut the panels repeatedly using the Blooming Circle wafer die. The envelope was made with Neenah Desert Storm 100 lb cardstock. I die cut some woodgrain cardstock, using Wonky Rectangles die and placed it on top of a top folding A2 sized card base.

I placed the enveloped and the flowers on the panel as well and stuck them to the panel using liquid glue. For the sentiment, I stamped Best Wishes from Wreath Greetings Stamp Set onto some black cardstock using Versamark Watermark Ink pad and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder.

I placed it on the panel and stuck it using foam tape and added some white jewels from Pretty Pink Posh to complete the card.

That’s all for these two cards.

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!

You have until Wed 8 a.m. Ohio time, 1 p.m. UK time and 2 p.m. CET to join in.
