Hello Friends! Hope everyone is having a great day!
Please join me in this week’s challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge .
Make Your Own Background
We are showcasing Concord and 9th products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
Here is my card for the inspiration.
Funny thing how I interpret the theme of a challenge. The theme was to make your own background and Concord and 9th has some pretty amazing background turnabout stamps and I own a few of them but somehow I interpreted it as making a background that is not a background stamp. So, I thought for a while and eventually came up with a weave print background.
I started off by taking a few sets of pink dye inks from lighter to darker shades so that I can achieve an ombre. I took the weave print from the Wonderful Florals stamp set and stamped it on a piece of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110 lb in repeating pattern from the lightest to darkest and shifting a bit to the right or left as I went. Then I took another panel of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110 lb and using the Wreath Turnabout Stamp set, I stamped the images keeping one element in one color. So, if the dandelions on the wreath are stamped in Sunshine Ink I kept it intact all along.
Then, I die cut the word Thank you four times and stacked it all up for dimension and the top one I die cut using gold glitter paper. I cut the panel in a pocket shape using and edge die from Concord and 9th which is sadly a discontinued product but you can use any edge die. I added some twine and sequins for interest.
That’s all for this card. I hope you enjoyed reading about it as much as I enjoyed making it.
So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!
You have until Wed 8 a.m. Ohio time, 1 p.m. UK time and 2 p.m. CET to join in.
New creations only, please don’t link projects published before to start of the challenge.
