Hello Friends! Hope everyone is having a great day!
Please join me in this week’s challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge .
Back To School
We are showcasing Penny Black products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
Here is my card for the inspiration.
So, for today’s card, I went with a fun shape and made a ChalkBoard Easel with the stamp, New School from Penny Black. I love wooden stamps and it was nice to have one in my collection. I took a Neenah Desert Storm 100 lb cardstock and made a top folding A7 sized card. On the lower bit, I used one of the Spellbinders frame dies and cut an easel shape but aligning it to the bottom half of the card so that it looks like stands of the easel.
I took a piece of woodgrain cardstock and cut it to 4.75 inches by 3.8 inches and took a piece of black cardstock and trimmed it to a slightly smaller size and heat embossed the sentiment from the Thank You Teacher stamp set in white embossing powder. I took some white pigment ink and dabbed it over the black cardstock to give it a chalkboard effect. I adhered it on the piece of white woodgrain panel. I cut red cardstock using scalloped oval die and a smaller oval of Doodlebug Back to School Patterned Paper using a regular oval die.
I stamped the image on a piece of hot pressed watercolor paper and colored it in using my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. After coloring, I fussy cut the image out and stuck it on the oval die cut using foam tape. Using the same Patterned paper set, I trimmed 2 ruler tags and placed them on the chalkboard.
That’s all for this card. I hope you liked it!
So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!
You have until Wed 8 a.m. Ohio time, 1 p.m. UK time and 2 p.m. CET to join in.
New creations only, please don’t link projects published before to start of the challenge.
