Hi there! Today I am so excited to be a part of Rubeena’s Crafting Anniversary 2-Day Blog Hop! This hop is epic with more than 70 guests and over $1,000 in sponsored prizes! Not only are we celebrating four years since Rubeena first discovered cardmaking but also crafting in general. This industry is made up of wonderful individuals who are creative, inspirational, kind, and incredibly supportive! Hop along so you can learn about why we create and how much joy it brings us!
I am quite an introvert if you were to ask me. I can’t muster up the courage to go and talk to people. Just not built that way. Ruby, a gem she is just like her name, buzzed me on Instagram a few months back and sent me a card of hers (something I will treasure forever!) and I sent one back. We have one thing in common other than crafting, we are new moms on the block. I get to learn so much from her. She is always helpful whether it is suggestions on what watercolor paper to use or anything else for that matter.
I made a card that celebrates her most loved style of crafting. I did some watercoloring and got this card together. The sentiment is something I feel for Ruby! She is an amazing person and I heart her in this crafting community.
For my card, I started out by taking an A2 sized piece of Arches Cold Pressed Watercolor paper and stamped the images from More Spring Flowers stamp set using Antique Linen Distress Ink. I stamped a few images on a separate piece of watercolor paper to layer later and add dimensions.
I took my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and painted away the floral images and leaves. After I was done painting, I took the sentiment from Uplifting Sentiments stamp set and stamped onto the watercolored panel using Versamark Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.
I added some clear Nuvo drops to make it look like dew. I trimmed the panel to 4 inches by 5.25 inches and adhered it on a top folding A2 sized card base made from Neenah Desert Storm 100 lb cardstock.
That’s all for this card and I hope you enjoyed reading about it as much as I making it for this blog hop!
As with all good hops, there are giveaways! In celebration of this anniversary, we have several amazing sponsors. Let’s thank them for their generosity! Winners will be randomly selected from comments left on all the blogs. The winners will be announced by Wednesday, September 5 on this page. Winners will have up to 2 weeks to contact Rubeena at firstname.lastname@example.org to claim their prize before another winner is selected.
