Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Halloween/Spooky – Light Up Spooky Jack-O-Lantern

Hello Friends! Hope everyone is having a great day!

Please join me in this week’s challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge .

This week the challenge is

We are showcasing Echo Park products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

As always, Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 gift Vouches for the Simon Says Stamp Store to one randomly selected winner!

Here is my card for the inspiration.

So these days as often as I can, I am ticking things off my crafty check list! I have been wanting to get all experimental with the Chibitronics LED Kit for the longest time now. So the spooky lit up Jack-o-lanterns were the perfect opportunity for it. I also haven’t made a halloween card ever in my life so this was so fun. I started by taking a 4.25 inch by 5.5 inch panel of cold pressed watercolor paper and created the night sky using my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. I splattered some white gouache for a little bit of additional interest.

I stamped all the images from Simon Says Stamp Limited Edition Frightful Fun kit and Bwahaha Stamp Set from the Stamptember release onto a piece of copic friendly cardstock using Intense Black ink and colored the images with my copic markers.

I also fussy cut the images out. I also die cut the spooky Jack-o-lanterns from Echo park and colored them in using my copic markers and added a sheet of black colored vellum behind each. The grassy layering was done with Grassy Hillside Borders lawn cuts and black cardstock. The bats were a part of the Frightful Fun kit.

The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock using Versamark Watermark Ink pad and heat embossed using Metalline Perfect Plum embossing powder. I also die cut the interactive tab element using Royal Purple cardstock and  heat embossed the word ‘Press me‘ with white embossing powder. I set up the entire LED circuit behind the Jack-o-lanterns with the help of a tutorial from Shari Carroll (link here).

I placed everything on a piece of black cardstock trimmed to be slightly bigger than 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches and adhered it finally on a side folding cardbase made from Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110 lb cardstock.

This completed the card. The next photo is with the interactive element in action. If you want to see a video of it, I have it on my instagram grid (link here).

That’s all for my card. I hope you liked the card I made.

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!

You have until Wed 8 a.m. Ohio time, 1 p.m. UK time and 2 p.m. CET to join in.
