Simon Says Stamp – Diecember® Release Blog Hop

Hello friends! Today, I am so honored and excited to be a part of day TWO of the Simon Says Stamp DieCember® release blog hop! I had the amazing opportunity to use the newest dies from the DieCember® dies and I made four cards exclusively for this blog hop. I tried to keep the designs simple with bursts of beautiful festive colors to bring in the Christmas spirit.

If you have already been hopping along with us, you should have arrived here from the talented, Emma William’s blog. I have linked the next stop in the hop down at the bottom of this post. If you wish to visit the day One of this blog hop, you can do so by clicking on this link

I am going to list down additional details of this blog hop after discussing about the cards I made. I hope you find some inspiration and enjoy reading about the cards I made using the fun and fabulous dies from this release as much as I loved making each one of them.

For my first card, I use the Big Picture Book Latte Die. I started by taking a 4.25 inch by 5.5 inch panel of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110 lb cardstock and stamped the words Warm Wishes using Barely Beige Dye ink and Sketched Letters from Simon Says Stamp. I trimmed it down to be 4 inches by 5.25 inches. I die cut the lattes using Copic Friendly cardstock and colored the mugs and froth in using my copic markers. I added some glitter on top of the froth using embossing paste and simply sprinkling the glitter onto it.

I also die cut the snowflakes using white glitter cardstock and Kadyn Snowflake die. I trimmed a panel of Schoolhouse red cardstock to be slightly larger than 4 inches by 5.25 inches and layered it below the white Warm Wishes stamped panel. Using the Nested Banner dies I created the sentiment panel. The bigger panel, I wound twine around it for some rustic festive feel. That was the frame I eventually placed the main sentiment on, which was heat embossed on black cardstock using white embossing powder and the sentiment is from Inside Holiday Greetings Stamp Set

I placed all the elements on an A2 sized top folding card base made from Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110 lb cardstock. I added some silver sequins for interest. That finished off the first card.

For my second card, I used the Nested Banners die set accompanied with the snowflake dies from the previous release. I started by ink blending a panel of Bristol smooth cardstock and ink blended some Simon Says Stamp Dye inks. The colors I used: Deep Purple, Hot Mama, Teeny Bikini and Pale Blush Pink. I splattered some white gouache, perfect pearls solution and some Gansai Tambi metallic paint on the panel. I die cut the Nested Banners and placed them using foam tape adjacent to each other on a white cardstock panel trimmed to 4 inches by 5.25 inches.

Using some white glitter paper, I die cut Kadyn Snowflake and Rina Snowflakes and placed them onto the panel using some liquid adhesive. I added some sequins for additional interest. The sentiment is again from the Inside Holiday Greetings set, stamped on black cardstock and embossed in white. I mounted all the elements on a side folding card base made from Neenah Desert Storm 100 lb cardstock. I added some color coordinating sequins to finish the card off.

For my third card, I used the Bixby Wreath die. I started by inking a panel of white cardstock with Dusty Sage dye ink and let it dry and die cut the wreath from it and another wreath from the kraft cardstock. I created another dry embossed panel using White cardstock and Lined Circles stencil. I foam mounted the flowers using the green wreath and leaves using kraft cardstock. I also added some pearl sequins for additional interest.

I stamped the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock again from Inside Holiday Greetings stamp set using Dusty Sage ink and mounted it on top of the dry embossed panel. I added a twine bow. I finished the card off by mounting it on a side folding card base made from Neenah Desert Storm 100 lb cardstock.

I have to say I love how the colors came together on this one and this is perhaps my most favorite in the entire lot!

For my fourth and final card, I created the word JOY using Nested Banners and Grid Alphabets. I took a piece of Schoolhouse Red cardstock and die cut it using Oval Nested Banners and altered the lengths using partial die cutting technique. I stamped and embossed JOY using Grid Alphabets, clear embossing ink and white embossing powder. For the base panel I used the Outline Snowflakes background stamp and stamped it using Barely Beige dye ink

I die cut the Kadyn Snowflakes using Fog cardstock and White cardstock. I created a base using Schoolhouse Red cardstock which was 5.25 inches by 4 inches. I mounted rest of the elements including the snowflake stamped background panel onto the red panel. I used the sentiment, stamped on Fog cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink and from the stamp set, Christmas Cheer. To finish off the card, I added some silver sequins and mounted everything on an A2 size Fog card base.
