Hello Friends! Hope everyone is having a great day!
Please join me in this week’s challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge . This week the challenge is
Black, White + One Other Color
We are showcasing Avery Elle products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
Here is my card for the inspiration.
Using just one color other than black and white really makes you think. Since it is just around Valentine’s day, I thought of using Pink. To start, I ink blended Magnolia, Doll Pink and Twirling Tutu dye inks on a piece of white cardstock and cut Deco Heart Die from it. I die cut the same die four times using white cardstock, so a total of 5, all stacked and adhered for a lot of dimension.
For dry embossing, I took a panel of white cardstock and used the Sketched Lines stencil. I took a strip of vellum and using clear embossing ink I stamped the sentiment from the And Then stamp set and heat embossed in black. The beauty of using a black embossing powder is when heated it gives you a dark navy sheen so the color isn’t as bold and harsh as one might think.
I used some super pastel sequins so that they don’t stand out too much and adhered everything on a top folding A2 sized white cardstock. There is something lovely about white space on a card that I just love. I wish to do more of such cards in the coming few months.
That’s all for this card. I hope you liked the card I made.
So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!
